B&N, Union Square

Overheard in NYC, Saturday June 17th, 12.52pm:

Stranger no.1: "What the hell are those?"
Stranger no.2: "I think they're all novels about albums."
Stranger no.1: "Why would anyone do that?"

I was there a week or so ago, picked up Velvet Underground & Nico, Aeroplane Over the Sea, Forever Changes, and Murmur. The hipster girl working the cashier downstairs didn't say a word to me when i purchased them. She read the back of the NMH book and then gave me a withering look. I said thanks. She just looked at me. I left.

Cooper's book was great, by the way.

Yeah I agree. I loved the NMH one to bits. That and the beasties ones defintely rank as my faves so far. Unfortunately in Malta you have to order them from abroad so I usually have to wait six weeks until I receive my next four (yep I have to buy four at a go)

If hipster girls find no joy in a NMH book, what on earth impresses kids today?
